St Ives Society of Artists Festival Show  was hung today and a rich, varied and colourful exhibition is the outcome.  Well worth a visit. Had so much fun painting the first two artworks (shown below) which were prompted by the fear that continual painting in oil on small boards was making my work too tight. Also, the last two very large commissions in oil on canvas completed last year were a struggle and soooo time consuming, which I have attributed to the lack of speedy, loose gestural under painting in acrylic, which were a feature of earlier large compositions. Not so many to show in this post, as a good part of October was spent working holiday cover and then there was HOUSEWORK - impossible to ignore any longer!!!
